Softball Recap: Tri-County Victorious

Tri-County's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the West Lafayette Red Devils by a score of 5-1. The Cavaliers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Devils, too.

Grace Luck made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Luck wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Bledsoe, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Bledsoe has posted since back in April.

Tri-County's record now sits at 17-2. As for West Lafayette, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.

Coming up, Tri-County will venture away from home to challenge Seeger at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for West Lafayette, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Logansport at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
