If Abernathy was riding high  fresh off their  14-3 takedown of Lockney last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Abernathy Antelopes lost  18-5 to the Denver City Mustangs on Monday. The Antelopes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
 Bryer Cook made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 2-for-2.  Natalie Romo also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Even though they lost, Abernathy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .394 or higher in three consecutive  matches.
Abernathy's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Denver City,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 11-2.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Abernathy will head out to  square off against Liberty  at 5:00  p.m.  on March 11th. As for Denver City, they will square off against Seminole at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
