Baseball Recap: Clarksville Academy Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Clarksville Academy never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the St. Peter's Prep Marauders as Clarksville Academy made off with a 6-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Colton Wallace made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brennen Gibson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Cooper Hasenbein was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Clarksville Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. St. Peter's Prep is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Clarksville Academy Cougars challenge Spain Park Jaguars at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Peter's Prep, they will square off against Auburn at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
