Hannibal is 9-1 against Moberly since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hannibal Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Moberly Spartans at 8:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Saturday, Hannibal ended up a good deal behind Quincy Notre Dame and lost 59-43. Hannibal has struggled against Quincy Notre Dame recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Moberly was the victim of a rough 71-45 loss at the hands of Hallsville on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Moberly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Hallsville is ranked 32nd).
Ty Rucker put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Land, who scored 5 points.
Their wins bumped Hannibal to 2-3 and Quincy Notre Dame to 4-2.
Hannibal was able to grind out a solid win over Moberly in their previous matchup back in January, winning 60-51. Does Hannibal have another victory up their sleeve, or will Moberly turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
