On Friday, Melba was the victim of a tough 53-30 loss at the hands of Sugar-Salem. It was the first time this season that Melba let down their fans at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sugar-Salem to victory, but perhaps none more so than Allie Christensen, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Monika Nead, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Melba has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 4-4 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Sugar-Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Melba will face off against The Ambrose School at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Ambrose School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Melba is ranked 30th). Sugar-Salem will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Parma at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th.
