Basketball Recap: Granite Hills Gets the Win

Granite Hills had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against the Kings Christian Crusaders by the margin of a single free throw, 53-52. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-39 two weeks ago.

When it comes to explaining why Kings Christian lost, don't look at Trey Brouwer. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards. Brouwer has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Ortega, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Granite Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Kings Christian, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.
