Genoa Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-40 walloping at the hands of Shekinah Christian. Genoa Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Genoa Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jackson Kirura scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Myers, who scored nine points.
Genoa Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Shekinah Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Genoa Christian Academy will take on Northside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northside Christian will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Shekinah Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge West Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. West Jefferson is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
