It was a good run, but The Rye Neck Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 32-0 loss at the hands of Putnam Valley.
Leading Putnam Valley to victory were Thomas Cunningham and Ricky Meister. Cunningham rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while Meister rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Cunningham was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.
Rye Neck's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Putnam Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Rye Neck does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Putnam Valley will head out on the road to face off against Pleasantville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasantville will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
