The Carson Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 73-15 loss at the hands of Northwest Cabarrus. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carson in their matchups with Northwest Cabarrus: they've now lost four in a row.
Rylee Hedrick and Brooklyn Mcbride certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hedrick scored six points along with two steals, while Mcbride scored no points. Hedrick is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Carson's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-20. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Northwest Cabarrus, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carson has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome East Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Carson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Rowan at 6:00 p.m.
