After flying high against Pennsylvania School For The Deaf on Tuesday, the Lexington School for the Deaf Blue Jays came back down to earth. Lexington School for the Deaf fell 60-50 to Garden on Thursday.
Lexington School for the Deaf lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cristhian De La Cruz, who scored 20 points along with three steals. De La Cruz scored a full 40% of Lexington School for the Deaf's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hunter Larsen was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Lexington School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Garden, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lexington School for the Deaf will be home for the holidays to greet New York School for the Deaf at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. New York School for the Deaf is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. Garden will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on United Nations International at 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
