The Marlow Outlaws waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They took down Comanche 40-25. Given Marlow's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Indians are ranked 225th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marlow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Blayd Harris led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Harris is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Boomer Brooks was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Marlow is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Comanche, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marlow will take on the Dragons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Comanche, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Panthers at 8:00 p.m.
