On Saturday, the Immaculate Mustangs faced the Conard Red Wolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Immaculate's rough 58-33 loss to Conard might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Immaculate has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Immaculate saw an underclassman step up: Kendra Foy scored 12 points along with three steals. That was a full 36.4% of Immaculate's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Callie Miller was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
Immaculate's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Conard, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Immaculate will head out on the road to square off against Kolbe-Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Kolbe-Cathedral is ranked 34th, while Immaculate is ranked 19th). As for Conard, they will be playing at home against Edwin O. Smith at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
