Two weeks ago, Peachtree Academy faced Community Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Peachtree Academy came out on top against Community Christian by a score of 14-6.
Meanwhile, even though Horizon Christian Academy scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Johnson Ferry Christian Academy still came out on top. Johnson Ferry Christian Academy enjoyed a cozy 50-34 victory over Horizon Christian Academy.
Johnson Ferry Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Lucas Scheffer, who rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Scheffer is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Austin Ahmad did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Johnson Ferry Christian Academy's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Blake Willoughby and his two sacks.
Peachtree Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
