After flying high against Lakeshore last Friday, the Salmen Spartans came back down to earth. Salmen fell just short of Archbishop Hannan by a score of 54-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Salmen has suffered yet this season.
Salmen lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Akayla Mcmooain, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals. Janelle Bell was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Salmen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Salmen's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Archbishop Hannan, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.
Salmen will be playing in front of their home fans against Loranger at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Loranger has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Archbishop Hannan, they will head out on the road to square off against Newman at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newman is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
