The Thomas Nelson Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 62-50 to Christian Educational Consortium. Thomas Nelson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Christian Educational Consortium apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Christian Educational Consortium's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathan Johnson led the charge by scoring 16 points. The game was Johnson's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Fleming, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Thomas Nelson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Christian Educational Consortium, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas Nelson and Boone County will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Boone County's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Thomas Nelson has been banged up by 12 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Christian Educational Consortium, they will challenge Beth Haven at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Beth Haven focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Thursday.
