The Cedar Reds will be taking part in a tournament against the Jordan Beetdiggers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cedar has nine straight wins, Jordan has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Cedar earned a 6-1 victory over Pine View.

Sadie Parson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Kyla Johnson and Kate Lopez did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Lopez scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Lopez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaylee Johnson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Cedar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Jordan came up short against Murray on Monday, falling 17-2.
Cedar's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Jordan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Jordan's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Cedar has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Jordan, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Cedar keep running through batters, or will Jordan buck the trend?
Everything went Cedar's way against Jordan when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Cedar made off with a 12-2 victory. Does Cedar have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jordan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
