Baseball Recap: Brandon Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

After losing to South Jones the last time they met, Brandon decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Brandon was the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over South Jones on Saturday. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jay McQueen, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Graydon Walker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

McQueen wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Brandon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. Brandon is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Brandon, bringing their record up to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for South Jones, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

Brandon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-1 victory against Petal on the 25th. As for South Jones, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Florence on the 25th.
