Oxford Academy has gone 8-2 against Whitney recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. Oxford Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Oxford Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Glenn on Tuesday. The Patriots blew past the Eagles 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Emily Ganguly made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Oxford Academy got a massive performance out of Danelia Paniagua, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Paniagua has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Shay Tiettmeyer, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Whitney suffered their closest defeat since March 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Artesia by a score of 16-14. Even though they lost, the Wildcats' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Chiugo Anyama and Olachi Anyama did some serious damage despite the final result: Chiugo went a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Olachi scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Olachi continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Nikilynn Baptista was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Whitney has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Oxford Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Everything went Oxford Academy's way against Whitney in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Oxford Academy made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
