The Ocosta Wildcats can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 47-46 photo finish over North Beach. That's another feather in the cap for Ocosta, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ocosta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tarren Lewis led the charge by scoring 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lewis has scored at least 25% of Ocosta's points. Michael Priest was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Ocosta's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for North Beach, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocosta will take on Willapa Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Willapa Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday. North Beach will be home for the holidays to greet Chief Leschi at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
