Hoosier Crossroads recap Sept. 26, 2012
Connor Christiansen of Fishers ran for the longest rushing play in Hoosier Crossroads this season against McCutcheon last week. Christiansen scampered for 71 yards on the play and finished with 98 on the day as his team bested the Mavericks.
Avon suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 28-14 loss to Avon. The Orioles had been ranked 19th, but fell to 26 following the defeat.
Hamilton Southeastern's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ross Risley threw for 177 and two touchdowns and Chris Ford had 118 yards receiving. On the ground Ryan Ripp chipped in 172 yards. Alec Showalter helped Hamilton Southeastern's passing attack out by catching two balls for 33 yards.
On the ground, the Royals' Ripp has rushed for 759 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cameron Polk. The Hamilton Southeastern star has 17 catches for 365 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Rick Wimmer's team and Zionsville. Fishers enters the game ranked 17th in the state, while the Eagles ranks 24th.
Brownsburg extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Crossroads this week by beating Jefferson, 42-6. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
