The Crosby Bulldogs stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They breezed by Oxford at home to the tune of 91-44. With Crosby ahead 54-19 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Crosby's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Blackman, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds and three steals. Blackman has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Curtis Ellis, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Crosby is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Oxford, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crosby will challenge Watertown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Watertown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Crosby is ranked 17th). As for Oxford, they will head out on the road to face off against Torrington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
