The Hiawatha Hawks will challenge the Westminster Christian Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Hiawatha is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Orangeville 18-8 on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Tommy Butler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season.
In other batting news, Colby Wylde was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aidan Cooper, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Hiawatha always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Westminster Christian posted their closest victory since May 16, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out St. Edward 4-3.
The team relied heavily on Zach Gurley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Luke Bartolome was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Westminster Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hiawatha, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Hiawatha might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Westminster Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
