Baseball Recap: Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Beats Berean Academy for Their Fourth Straight Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts). They put the hurt on Berean Academy with a sharp 18-6 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Noah Steele and Jaxon Dang made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Steele struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Dang tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. At the plate, Steele scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Dang scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Landon Miller was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jacob Stoker, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Berean Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts will square off against East Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Berean Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hixson at 6:30 p.m. on April 8.
