The McClain Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Hillsboro Indians at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. McClain has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought game, but McClain had to settle for a 45-42 loss against Waverly.
Hillsboro has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 43 points or more this season. They blew past Paint Valley 60-15 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hillsboro.
Peighton Bledsoe was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 14 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Scott, who scored six points along with six steals and five rebounds.
McClain's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Hillsboro, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
McClain couldn't quite finish off Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in February and fell 38-35. Can McClain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
