The Champaign Central Maroons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 61-52 to Centennial. Champaign Central has not had much luck with Centennial recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, Champaign Central had strong showings from Axel Baldwin, who scored 16 points, and Chris Bush, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baldwin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Torion Rhone, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Champaign Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Champaign Central will head out on the road to take on Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Centennial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manual at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manual is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
