In what's become a running theme this season, the Greenwood Mennonite Flames gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They really took it to Fairwinds Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-13 victory at home. Winning may never get old, but Greenwood Mennonite sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Greenwood Mennonite had a senior duo take command as Laci Mast scored 26 points along with six steals and Faith Troyer dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Mast is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nona Wright, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fairwinds Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Greenwood Mennonite racked up 11 assists.
Greenwood Mennonite pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45.3 points. As for Fairwinds Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Greenwood Mennonite will head out on the road to challenge Chestertown Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
