The Lancaster Mennonite Blazers will face off against Christian School of York at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Lancaster Mennonite was handed a 15-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past High Point Baptist Academy 8-7.
Landon Nyveldt made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Brady Kinney was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Lancaster Mennonite's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-11 when he doesn't).
Christian School of York came out on top against West Shore Christian Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. Christian School of York had just enough and edged out West Shore Christian Academy 7-6. The win continues a trend for Christian School of York in their matchups with West Shore Christian Academy: they've now won four in a row.
Like Lancaster Mennonite, Christian School of York also got a great game from a two-way player: Maverick Browand. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Browand was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Wentz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Benjamin Martin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Lancaster Mennonite's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Christian School of York, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
