Madison-Grant has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Eastbrook Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Madison-Grant suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Frankton by a score of 52-50. While losing is never fun, Madison-Grant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Frankton is ranked 174th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Teagan Yeagy, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Hull, who scored 13 points.
Madison-Grant struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Eastbrook's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Daleville by a score of 64-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Madison-Grant has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Eastbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
Madison-Grant came up short against Eastbrook in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 57-52. Can Madison-Grant avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
