The Calvary Christian Warriors will head out to square off against the East Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so East Lake's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Tuesday, Calvary Christian beat Bishop McLaughlin Catholic 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Grayson Gibson tossed a big game, striking out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.
At the plate, Calvary Christian's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jace Traina, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Maddox Bozeman, who got no hits from his two at bats.
Meanwhile, East Lake never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Clearwater as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Camden Boehm, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Clearwater off the board.
On the hitting side, Andrew Sheffield was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Dylan Taft also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Calvary Christian's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for East Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calvary Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like East Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Calvary Christian beat East Lake 10-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
