Sedgwick extended the longest winning streak in Heart of America this week by beating Bluestem, 51-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Sedgwick took down the Lions 51-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Ell-Saline's dynamic duo of Garrett Walker and Keegan Hays proved tough for Washington County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Walker threw for 215 yards and one touchdown and Hays had 71 yards receiving. Kaleb Whitehair helped Ell-Saline's passing attack out by catching three balls for 50 yards.
Zach Fief was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 111 yards as Bennington beat the Tigers. B.J. Glanton also contributed to the rushing game with 86 yards on the ground.
Luke Sheridan made the biggest impact on defense this week as Ell-Saline bested Washington County. The 5-foot-11 freshman recorded one fumble and grabbed one sack.
5-foot-10 quarterback Walker of Terry King's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1135. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Inman's Josh Miller has rushed for 1270 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Logan Thompson. The Sedgwick star has 22 catches for 461 yards.
Jeff Werner's team's Dalton Brandt is a mere 26 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 134 carries Brandt has accumulated 974 yard this year.
A big matchup in Heart of America this week will be when the Cardinals take on the Bulldogs. Ell-Saline is in second place, while Bennington is in fifth place.
The Cardinals led the league in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on Bluestem.
