They breezed by Temple City on the road to the tune of 70-33. Given South Pasadena's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Temple City is ranked 852nd), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Pasadena got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Derek Peterson out in front who scored 18 points. The match was Peterson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Russell Williams, who scored 14 points along with six assists.
Temple City's loss came despite strong showings from Shawn Le and Mason Collins. Le scored eight points along with eight rebounds, while Collins scored six points.
The win makes it two in a row for South Pasadena and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Temple City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
South Pasadena will look to defend their home court on Friday against Monrovia at 7:00 p.m. As for Temple City, they will head out on the road to face off against San Marino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
