Mountain House is 9-0 against Johansen since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Mountain House Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Johansen Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Mountain House has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 444 points over their last seven games.
Mountain House posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Monday. They put the hurt on Grace Davis with a sharp 66-44 win. Given Mountain House's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Grace Davis is ranked 1007th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mountain House can attribute much of their success to Jordan Assefa, who scored 12 points, and Shamar Jones, who scored 13 points. Thomas Pinn was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Johansen earned a 54-42 victory over Grace Davis on Friday.
Mountain House's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Johansen, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
Mountain House strolled past Johansen in their previous matchup on January 5th by a score of 63-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain House since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
