Football Game Preview: Saddle Brook Falcons vs. North Arlington Vikings

The Saddle Brook Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the North Arlington Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saddle Brook will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

While Saddle Brook's win against Wallington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Falcons made off with a 26-25 victory over the Panthers. The Falcons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Dylan Cerciello, who rushed for 203 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Those 203 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Nik Vitiello was another key player, rushing for 63 yards and one score on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Saddle Brook was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 281 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, North Arlington was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by Rutherford 41-6. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 127th).

North Arlington's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Saddle Brook, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Saddle Brook against North Arlington in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-11 victory. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
