Chapmanville Regional has won four straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Mingo Central has won four straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Tigers will host the Miners at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when Chapmanville Regional took on Logan on Friday. The Tigers claimed a resounding 42-7 victory over the Wildcats. With the Tigers ahead 28-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

It was another big night for Trey Ward, who picked up 144 receiving yards and three TDs. Those 144 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Dakota Dalton was another key player, throwing for 220 yards while completing 81.2% of his passes.
Chapmanville Regional was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 314 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Mingo Central against Lincoln County on Friday as the team secured a 49-14 win. The Miners pushed the score to 42-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.
Mingo Central's win came from a few key players Chapmanville Regional will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bam Coleman, who rushed for 105 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Jamere Knuckles, who threw for 265 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt.
Mingo Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keziah Joplin and Dylan Mounts. Mounts also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten. Joplin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Mingo Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Chapmanville Regional, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Chapmanville Regional has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 436.5 total yards per game. However, it's not like Mingo Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 361 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Chapmanville Regional beat Mingo Central 14-6 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Miners' Dylan Vance, who rushed for 93 yards and one TD, and also picked up 40 receiving yards.
