While losing is never fun, Lakewood Ranch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Bradenton Christian is ranked 107th).
Despite the defeat, Lakewood Ranch saw an underclassman step up: Isaiah Allen scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was James Butler, who scored 12 points.
Lakewood Ranch has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Bradenton Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood Ranch will take on Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sarasota is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Bradenton Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Manatee at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Manatee's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
