The Eastern Alamance Eagles's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 60-49 win over Williams. Eastern Alamance pushed the score to 49-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern Alamance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makayla Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aliya Trollinger, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Williams saw an underclassman step up: Alaiyah Mitchell scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Taylor, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Eastern Alamance is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Williams, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Alamance will take on the Fighting Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cedar Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
