The Belleville Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Lodi Blue Devils at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Tuesday, Belleville didn't have quite enough to beat Wisconsin Heights and fell 3-2. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Belleville wouldn't go down easily and took Wisconsin Heights into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Belleville had strong showings from Korynn Potter, who had 25 digs and four assists, and Khylee Lietz, who had 17 digs and one assist. Potter has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played.
Lodi had taken Lake Mills down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Blue Devils took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the L-Cats. The Blue Devils have struggled against the L-Cats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Lodi started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-23.
Belleville will have to contain Fayth Hesselberg as she made an impact in Lodi's last game. She had 38 digs and five assists.
Belleville's record now sits at 13-9. As for Lodi, their record is now 11-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Belleville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Lodi struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Belleville couldn't quite get it done against Lodi when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
