Baseball Recap: Osborn Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Osborn came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Mumford Mustangs with a sharp 20-2 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

J Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Williams was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on A Woods, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. He has been hot for a while, having also posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times he's played. D Conway was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Osborn's victory bumped their record up to 23-3. As for Mumford, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Osborn will square off against Harper Woods at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. Mumford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
