The Caroline Cavaliers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 69-53 win over Chancellor. This was payback for Caroline, who suffered a 62-58 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Chancellor lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Larell Edwards, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Edwards hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Seth Hunter was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Caroline's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Chancellor, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caroline's road trip will continue as they head out to face Courtland at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Chancellor, they will square off against Culpeper County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Culpeper County is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
