Durham Academy is 0-10 against the Knights since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Durham Academy Cavaliers will head out on the road to challenge the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 6:15 p.m. Durham Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Durham Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against St. Mary's by a score of 60-49.
Rashyia "Shy" Williams and Sarra Abdelbarr were among the main playmakers for Durham Academy as the former dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds and the latter scored 27 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abdelbarr has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Fleming Burkert, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-34, which was the final score in North Raleigh Christian Academy's tilt against the Fighting Pharaohs on Saturday. While losing is never fun, North Raleigh Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Fighting Pharaohs are ranked 36th).
Durham Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-15.
Durham Academy suffered a grim 65-40 defeat to the Knights in their previous meeting back in January. Can Durham Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
