The Orleans Bulldogs will take on the South Central Rebels at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Orleans barely beat Lanesville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Friday. The Bulldogs' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Izzie Rutherford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Rutherford was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chelsea Ralph, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Adrian Abel, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
Orleans was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lanesville only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in March. They put the hurt on Bullitt Central with a sharp 17-1 win back in March. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rebels needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Like Orleans, South Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Gracie Haag. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Haag was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Delaney Pennington was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Alexis Sawicki was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Orleans' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average this season. As for South Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Orleans' speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Bulldogs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for South Central, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Orleans continue to outrun the ball?
Orleans took their victory against South Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
