Alpine and Presidio are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Bucks will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Alpine has six straight victories, Presidio has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Alpine's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Anthony with a sharp 19-0 win. The Bucks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by nine runs or more this season.
Taryn Hardin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Zariah Galvan was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kody Hawkins, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Alpine hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Kermit hit Presidio with a five-run fourth inning last Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils came up short against the Yellow Jackets, falling 11-1.
Presidio saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miriam Lara, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
The victory got Alpine back to even at 12-12. As for Presidio, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
Presidio's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Alpine has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. It's a different story for Presidio, though, as they've only averaged .358. Will they be able to contain Alpine's hitters?
Alpine got the 'W' when the teams last played two weeks ago against Presidio by a conclusive 18-3 score. Do the Bucks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
