SouthLake Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hickory Grove Christian 79-47 on the road. The victory was a breath of fresh air for SouthLake Christian Academy as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Hickory Grove Christian saw an underclassman step up: Brent Banks scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Barack Jones, who scored ten points.
The win got SouthLake Christian Academy back to even at 14-14. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they dropped their record down to 4-20 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. SouthLake Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Northside Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in North Carolina (the Knights are ranked 26th, while the are ranked 207th). As for Hickory Grove Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Metrolina Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
