Softball Recap: Bishop Loughlin Wins Going Away Against St. Saviour

Bishop Loughlin barely beat St. Saviour the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Panda Bears 17-8 on Tuesday. Considering the Lions have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Isabella Duverge, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 3-for-4. Leah Gethers was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bishop Loughlin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bishop Loughlin's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for St. Saviour, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Bishop Loughlin will challenge Christ the King at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Saviour, they will square off against Holy Cross at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
