The South Putnam Eagles are on the road again on Saturday and plays the Riverton Parke Panthers at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Riverton Parke took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on South Putnam, who comes in off a win.
Two weeks ago, South Putnam strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 54-36. The win was just what South Putnam needed coming off of a 65-40 defeat in their prior match.
Drew Hill was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Khalil Jefferson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Riverton Parke's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Seeger at home and fell 68-32. Riverton Parke was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.
South Putnam's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Riverton Parke, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
South Putnam came up short against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 81-72. Can South Putnam avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
