SEBRING, Fla. - the Braves had a big 23-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 30-7 victory over
Sebring (Fla.).
Lake Gibson scored on a
Trey Congdon touchdown run, a touchdown pass by Congdon to
Jeremy Crissey and a touchdown run by
Thomas Boles in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Congdon in the second quarter, LG was up 23-7 at the half.
The Lakeland school grew its lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. The Braves scored once in the quarter on a Boles touchdown run.
Sebring's only touchdown came on a 4-yard run by
Jair Watson in the first quarter.
Lake Gibson had given up an average of 15.1 points prior to the contest. The seven points that the Blue Streaks ended with were well below their average of 18.9 coming into the game.
The loss was the third in a row for Sebring. With the win LG extended its winning streak to four games.
Sebring (5-4) goes up against Avon Park in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Lake Gibson (6-2) locks horns with Ridge also in a non-conference game.
