The Mendenhall Tigers will face off against the Magee Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mendenhall has three straight victories, Magee has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Mendenhall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Forest Hill on Thursday as Mendenhall made off with a 17-1 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Alli Brewer was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamya Gray, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Mendenhall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Magee and McLaurin meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Magee lost 25-10 to McLaurin. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 5-0 in the first period.
Kaylee Brown led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Carsyn Drake, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1.
Mendenhall pushed their record up to 5-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Magee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Magee's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mendenhall has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. It's a different story for Magee, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Mendenhall's hitters?
Mendenhall took their win against Magee in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 22-0. Does Mendenhall have another victory up their sleeve, or will Magee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
