Baseball Recap: Lowell Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Lowell was forced to take a big loss against they on Friday, they got the better of them on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Forest Hills Central Rangers a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Red Arrows have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lowell got a great performance from Owen Dennings as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Dennings posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Paxton Fischer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 contests. Another player making a difference was Nathen Raison, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Lowell is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season. As for Forest Hills Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11.

Looking ahead, Lowell will head out on the road to square off against Sparta at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Forest Hills Central, they will host Unity Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Rangers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
