The Clopton Hawks stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They beat Wright City by the very same score they won with last week: 82-26. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-13.
Clopton found their leader in underclassman Charleigh Spoonster, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists. Spoonster is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Campbell Lindsay, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Clopton has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Wright City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Clopton will head out on the road to take on Bowling Green at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wright City, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Van-Far at 5:30 p.m. Van-Far is coming into the matchup with nine straight losses on the road, meaning Wright City will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
