The Grace Christian Academy EAGLES put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Appling Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 83-53. The score was close at the half, but Grace Christian Academy pulled away in the second half with 49 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grace Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Riesberg, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Riesberg is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Christian Barkley, who scored 19 points.
Appling Christian Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alex Coursey, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. Coursey continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jaden Drake was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Grace Christian Academy has yet to lose a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 7-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Appling Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian Academy will take on Strong Rock Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Strong Rock Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Appling Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against First Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
